We had a vision of transforming the aquaculture industry into an environmentally friendly and sustainable business.
The path there was simple - fish and family come first.

We were founded in 1974 by Paul Merlin, a pioneer in land-based aquaculture here in the Maritimes. Paul found his calling while spending his summers swimming and fishing in rivers all over Nova Scotia. He started studying and implementing different land-based aquaculture techniques in order to reduce the impact of fisheries on the rivers and wild fish he loved. Paul developed a keen interest in pushing the industry towards a more sustainable future and passed his passion on to his children and grandchildren.
